HOW DOES LIFE CHANGE?
Our fifth unit is Evolution. We will be discussing the processes that occurred to allow life to exist on Earth. In order to understand how our Planet has so much diversity, we must first look at the past, before life even existed!! The early years of planet Earth were much different than what we are used to now. We will study rock formations, plate tectonics and other geologic process allowing for understanding of how our Planet 'works'. Following our small discussions of geology and Earth Sciences, we will jump right into Natural Selection and how this leads to evolving of species. Again, as with other units, there are many new vocabulary words - PLEASE STAY ON TOP OF THEM!!! You will receive vocabulary sheets to help, but I would suggest making flash cards or some other sort of study tool to help yourself with words.
- I CAN EXPLAIN THE THEORY OF PLATE TECTONICS
- I CAN IDENTIFY THE AGE OF ROCKS
- I CAN USE THE THEORY OF PLATE TECTONICS TO EXPLAIN AGE OF CRUSTAL ROCKS
- I CAN EXPLAIN HOW NATURAL SELECTION LEAD TO ADAPTATION OF A SPECIES
